Would you be willing to forgive a doctor's, a dentists, and a lawyers student loans?

If after they finished school, they served the community for 3 years. We would have to pay them lets say $60,000 a year for their services, but they would supply the poor, help with medical dental and law services for 3 years. Your thoughts and suggestions.

Would you be willing to forgive a doctor's, a dentists, and a lawyers student loans?
Good idea. My local medical school has such a program. The graduating doctors have to spend some period of time in the rural areas of my state that lack doctors and their student loans are forgiven or reduced based upon the circumstances.
Reply:It is working out very well in New Mexico. We're got doctors out to our 21 Indian tribes and to the ranch land. The doctors love the program and it's been a great benefit to our state. We've also set up tele-medicine over broadband for consultations with specialists at the Medical School. Report It

Reply:That sounds like a GOOD idea to me.
Reply:This the Law now with Federal Government Program but not Private Sector.
Reply:Excellent Idea. It would teach these three categories of professionals some compassion.
Reply:No. They know, going in, that education is expensive. Socialism does not work. And, most would consider this indentured servitude.
Reply:i agree
Reply:I think that is a good idea. I belive that I loan is a loan however and must be paid back. I think that the loans themselves should be tied to some community type service however. Great idea! Although I think that we have plenty of lawyers in the US and do not need anymore.
Reply:Sounds awesome
Reply:A great idea!
Reply:Hell no. Doctors, dentists, and lawyers get their educations paid for...then become rich. The poor get healthcare and legal assistance for free. The middle class gets to pay for it, but gets nothing for it.
